The Beginning

Hello everyone, I would simply like to introduce myself to those of you who do not know me. My name is Fred, I was born and raised in central Texas and this is where I currently reside. Although I was born and raised into a Christian home, I did not always act in the manner in which I was raised, and I did not attend church or pray regularly; however, that would all change when I finally learned to trust God with my life.

For years I partied, stayed out late, and behaved in the most barbaric manner imaginable; although I was raised in the church, as were most of my friends, we participated and promoted a lifestyle that was violent, disrespectful, and only brought terror and destruction to the neighborhood we claimed to love and represent. East Austin Texas was and is the area of town we claimed to love; however, at that point in our lives we had no idea what the word love really meant, and our actions proved that.

Fast forward a few years and here I am presenting myself to you as a new creation; attempting to reach out to those in need of an opportunity to change themselves; understanding that without hope there is nothing. Hope, what a powerful word, but what is hope? hope is the feeling that something desired can be reached or that an object of desire can be attained as in a hope for a better life. Jesus Christ is that hope for a better life, the Bible tells us that we can have a new beginning through Jesus Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:17 read as follows "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" This in itself is a message of hope, the knowledge of knowing that whatever mistakes we have made in the past no longer matter.

Yes, we do have to pay for our sins here on Earth, if we break the law we must pay the fine or do the time; however, God will forgive us and wipe our slate clean, we will have a new beginning in Christ. Literally we become a new creation because the sin filled life has been erased from God's memory. The love of God covers all sin, it is up to us to decide if we will continue to live in a life of sin, or if we will accept the new beginning that he has offered us.
